1. Basic Biomedical Sciences (10%)

Reduced weight—focus on core concepts only.

  • Subjects: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Biology/Genetics.

2. Pharmaceutical Sciences (33%)

A major pillar of the exam.

  • Subjects: Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics (Drug Delivery Systems), Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmaceutical Calculations.

3. Social, Behavioral, and Administrative Sciences (22%)

Often overlooked, but critical for passing.

  • Subjects: Health Care Delivery Systems, Economics/Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacy Law and Regulatory Affairs, Ethics, and Patient Counseling/Behavioral aspects.

4. Clinical Sciences (35%)

The largest and most important section.

  • Subjects: Therapeutics/Pharmacotherapy, Adverse Drug Reactions, Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Drug Information, Medication Safety, and Literature Evaluation.
